I am the business owner of City Lights Motel in Tweed Heads South and John Buckroyd and his team installed a 12 KW Solar system here. I contacted John for a quotation and he came out to discuss the requirement. He is the director of Solar Panels and Hot Water and not just a salesman. He is knowledgeable about solar power and the available products and also able to make immediate decisions about the price and delivered project configuration. We agreed on configuration and price and Solar Panels and Hot Water were commissioned to install the system. At this stage Eastern Energy (the electricity distributor) added some additional requirements creating a requirement for some changes to the agreed equipment configuration. John and I were able negotiate the necessary changes allowing John's team to get on with the job and reach a successful project completion. Our requirement at City Lights was to optimize energy cost reduction, energy being our highest single expense. This project involved not only the introduction of a solar power system consisting of two sub systems (1 X 5 KW and 1 X 7 KW) but also the reconfiguration of some of our power circuitry to balance power usage against solar power inverter yield and also the change over to Time of Use billing. The culmination of these initiatives are an anticipated reduction of 20% of our total power bill at an anticipated return on in investment of 30%. Early indications are that we are on track. I recommend John and his team as professional and knowledgeable people who get on with the job.
