Doing a little bit of research on solar panels yourself does not go astray, if anything it speeds up the process on first contact. When I contacted Solargain I was just impressed with their presentation, service and systems. My purchasing decision was based on I wanted a Solar company that was well established and that would be around in the next 5 to 10 years as I felt this industry has a few "fly by nighter's" that sell purely on price. I liked Solargain from the detailed quote, to electronic document handover package, to electronic sign off via smart phone & installer commissioning test sheet provided. I only wish now the company I worked for would adapt the same presentation in their marketing and systems.

Monday 15th June, 2020Michael from Western AustraliaAfter spending a week, trawling online through reams of solar information, I settled on three potential companies and asked for quotes from each. All responded but, from the first, I was most impressed by Solargain; they were informative and receptive without being the least ‘pushy’. At my request, they provided three separate quotes for different panel configurations and power generations. We went with a 5.6 kWp system. Prior to our commitment, the installer visited the house to check the roof and its heavy concrete tiles. Once we had signed, everything went like clockwork, not just to schedule but sometimes in advance of schedule. The installer was professional, conscientious and didn’t break a single tile (He also ground the back of the tiles he lifted to ensure that they sat absolutely flat when re-laid). The system is now up and running, and working perfectly. All those involved (sales consultant, coordinator and installer) were a pleasure to work with. At every stage I felt I was being kept in the loop, by both email and phone; any queries got immediate and full responses. AGL also saw to the installation of the necessary EDMI Smart Meter quickly and efficiently. We wondered whether it was worth paying extra for a Fronius monitoring meter but we were glad we did. When deciding whether to use the dishwasher or washing machine, it’s so easy to check on one’s mobile or laptop how much the system is currently generating, together with a lot of other useful information for managing the system to maximum advantage. All in all Solargain, Fronius and AGL - thoroughly recommended.

The correspondence was very professional and thorough. The installation team were very friendly and completed the work neatly and they left nothing behind. The installation was partly completed due to rain, but the team was back earlier than planned to finish up and commission the system. We installed a power monitor with the Fronius inverter which has allowed us to monitor the system online or via an app. Has been interesting to watch what devices use power and how much. Would have no issues recommending Solargain and I have already shown the system to a few friends along with a recommendation to give Solargain a call.

They asked me where I would like the inverter fitted and set up the online monitoring for me. They did a great job fitting the panel on the roof, and cleaned up after they had finished. They didn’t even ask for a deposit when I first signed up. I just paid on the day. The whole process was very easy and straight forward. 3 days after they had finished the install, the Inspector came to check if everything was installed correctly and he said it was. They even contacted my electricity provider and organised the update of my Meter for me. Very happy with Solargain , I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get solar.

The process from getting the quote to installation was easy and straightforward (after the more frustrating research I undertook in the first place to decide on what we were going to replace the old HWS with!) We got a number of quotes and found Solargain to be very competitive but, more importantly, very efficient and friendly to deal with. My questions were answered quickly and I felt comfortable with the decision I made. The guys who installed the unit were also friendly, on time and cleaned up after themselves - always a plus :) We've only had the system in for a week so have no idea of exactly what it will save us in hot water bills but being able to align it with our existing solar PV system was one of the big drawcards for me. The after sales service was also great and all communication from the office was professional. From my dealings with Solargain so far, I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.

Solargain is also an ISO approved company which gave me more confidence in dealing with them. Yes, there are cheaper systems out there (not much cheaper) but having the piece of mind of knowing that if there are any problems with my system in the future, they can fulfill their warranty obligations. That's something you should also think about when choosing a supplier. There are a lot of companies out there that go bust. Who looks after the warranty then? We bought the solar panels through a finance company recommended by Solargain and the whole process was very easy as well as getting finance on a low rate.

The installers (I forget their names but one was South African and the other Irish) were on time and very informative with the process and usage of the app and equiptment. The whole process has been excellent from start to finish, and I highly recommend this company and the team of professionals who support it. During the research phase, I spoke to the sales team several times with various questions and looked at a lot of different specifications from different companies. I never felt I was being pressured, and everything was clearly explained. Once the deal was done, the installation team took over with a site visit and explanation of what would happen and when. Again I felt confident that this turn-key service would be done correctly. On the day the install team arrived and put everything in place quickly, quietly and with a minimum of fuss. They were helpful cleaning everything up afterwards and took away the old hot water service and an unused Foxtel Ariel that allowed them better access to the roof and solar panel area. They showed us through the operation manual and answered all questions. So far everything is working fine, but we also have all the paperwork for the warranty etc. so I am confident that if anything did go wrong, it would be fixed immediately. This was a considerable investment for us, but the return in about 5-7 years will make this worthwhile. Thank you Solargain for your help, support and professionalism in getting all this set up and working.

From quote to install and after sales support things were fine. System had few issues for two days after install so I logged a call. Yes it did take longer than I would've liked to hear back from support but nonetheless when I was contacted I was given a reason for my issue and what I can do about it(logging with Solargain and monitoring in case power supply company is actually causing issue by power spikes). Overall I have used Solargain twice and recognize others had issue s but in my case both times Solargain did an excellent job and thus I am happy to recommend them.

While all information exchange was via email and telephone we were confident we were making the right decision. I did visit their Canberra store/warehouse and was suitably impressed by advice I was provided there (Note; I don't think it is opened at all times). We selected a single phase 10.8KW Fronius with SunPower panels and a iStore water storage system and Solargain worked with us to address questions and concerns we had so as to meet our tight timeframe leading up to Christmas. They completed all forms, obtained all necessary approvals and even facilitated the change over of to a smart meter. Installation went very well with a high level of professionalism of the local team evident even down to final cleanup and removal of our old hot water tank/system. The Team Leader always kept us fully informed on what was happening and engaged with us for our thoughts and preferences during installation. Due the placement of panels we never expected 10.8 KW but to date we regularly get around 75% and are very pleased with this. Much of this goes to the grid with many hours at the 5KW maximum allowed of a single phase system in the ACT. So, we are looking forward to low bills in the future. I have no hesitation in recommending that Solargain be approached if you are thinking of going solar.

When we had the funds there had been an update in tech where we could drop down from 24 to 20 panels for the system as they are now producing 300w instead of the original 275w. Called our rep and he starting organising for us. During this busy period leading up to xmas we were still able to get the system installed in a 3 week timeframe. I was a little concerned when the quote didn't have the timer switch for the hot water system and the Emergency Power Supply listed. I called and they advised they were included in the quote including the 10 m run to the inverter and battery from the meter box. I signed my quote with notes of our call and was notified by my energy supplier and application had been submitted within 3 hours of submitting the acceptance. The salesman, Rob, listened to my description of the situation and offered me two solutions. I went for the heat pump option which is programmed to run during daylight hours and therefore uses our own power. On the following day a tradesman arrived with a small electric HWS to get us through until the new unit could be installed on Tuesday. The new unit arrived on time, was installed quickly, the old unit was removed, the area cleaned up and I was given a verbal run down with demonstrated procedures to keep things going. I also received a comprehensive operating manual but all the settings had been done anyway. The guys took away the temporary loan HWS and we were again showering with lots of lovely hot water. Found a lot of companies in the market and felt that I would need to really check out who ever I went with, its a lot of money, and I wanted value for my dollar. I am quality auditor for a living, read design specs, testing reports, inspecting works and systems. I read the standards for solar install, and knew some sections verbatim. So in short, I am not an easy customer. And this wasn’t going to be an easy install, I was ready to nit pick on everything. I had heard all the stories about bad installs and was worried, I didn't want to be that guy. I even had the standards ready in hard copy to reference. But I didn’t have to do any of that. These guys are the real deal. The main reasons I picked Solargain:
• ISO Accredited, this is a very hard thing to gain and maintain, this means the business is independently audited yearly, they can lose this accreditation if standards are not maintained.
• Clean Energy Council member
• Good warranty periods
• Quality components (I verified all the parts as they were installed, checked all the panels, the year of manufacture, some company’s say you are getting one thing and install another, not Solargain). The package I got was cheaper though other companies, and vastly expensive with others, but ultimately, I went with Solargain, the install is inline with standards, neat and tidy work. I think Solargain they have found a niche part of the market, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. The price point is good and the quality or work and components is spot on. Thanks Solargain, Can’t fault you or the work. Brilliant. And special thanks to Matthew in the office, you have been immensely helpful. I did some of my own homework and found reviews from others before making the decision to finally get my Solar PV system. Chris came to my house and asked me about my power usage in the home during the day. Before giving me several options to suit my consumption and explaining the different panels and inverters he proposed. Other companies wanted to quote only over the phone and the door knockers that dropped past did not seem knowledgeable on the products they were selling. There was no pressure to sign there and then as others wanted from me. Which then gave me time to make my decision with all the information in front of me. The install team turned up on the appointed time and did a great job. The monitoring was set up for me when the job was completed. The Solargain team went that extra mile in my opinion. We were able to get a Solargain serviceman to inspect problem urgently. Unit could not be repaired, but was ok to use for short showers. A new system was ordered, and was installed quickly and efficiently after the weekend. We were subsequently contacted to make sure we were happy with installation and that everything was operating satisfactorily. We have old cement tiles on roof and installers were very careful when carrying out their work not to break any tiles. On the day of installation Impressive Electrical (the installers) arrived to say that did not have all the panels necessary to complete the works, however they started the install process. The weather wasn’t kind and after a few showers they did what they could and said they will return in the New Year to complete the job. The next morning they arrived with all the panels and finished off the job. I was very happy that Dwayne Ellis (the owner of Impressive Electrical in Sydney who did the install on behalf of Solargain) re-scheduled his other jobs to complete ours. I have to say that the team from Impressive Electrical were very professional and thorough and I’m happy to have chosen Solargain for our PV system, especially after I had such a rocky start with another company. The system is up and running and it’s a bit of a novelty to check the App to see what's being generated and what's being consumed etc. I would not hesitate to recommend Solargain and the Impressive Electrical team.

This is my third system, the first two being SolarHart Systems, which gave me 20 Years for the first system, and the second 16 Years, which i have no complaints. My intention was to replace it again using the same Brand, but after getting a quote the price from 2002, had increased by 100%, so my initial though was to maybe change over to a Gas System. I arranged for four Gas Instantanous quotes with prices ranging from $2600 to $2890, each one being for a different Brand being recommended. It can do your head in trying to compare, so i headed off to the reviews for those Gas Systems, and like most you get some horror stories, along with a mixture of the odd good ones. So after reading those gas reviews I thought i would try Solargain, so i could hopefully continue to have Soalr which was my preference. After getting there price, which blew me away, as it was in the middle of the quotes i had received for the gas systems, again it was off to the reviews. I could not find 1 Solargain review that had one of those negative comments, so it became a no brainer, it was to be Solar System number 3. I made contact with Solargain on Friday am, they returned my call Friday pm, and my system was installed Monday am. The whole process was so simple, the guys installing the system were so professional, taking all the care in the World to ensure, the whole install went to plan, and what a great job they did. Not one bit of rubbish left behind, even wanted to hose my driveway down as a bit of down water had split from the old tank. The System itself look good, and I like the idea of the brass pipe work having Insullation protection on it. Also if you don’t have the time because you get no warning, and suddenly have no Hot Water, Solargain will install a Tempory smaller System, in an emergency. So if you are reading this review, hopefully i have done most of the Homework for you, if you have a Solar HWS that needs replacing, or are thinking about Solar, (Solargain) is the way to go.

Comparing it with our previous non-solar off-peak electric HWS, it has saved 81% of what we used to use. We now use an average of 1.08 kWh per day (past 4 years) vs 5.82 kWh/day (previous 12 years). The only issue ever was a fuse in Jan 2016, but it just meant that we got hot water via the off-peak booster instead of the evacuated tubes for a couple of days until we noticed - Solargain quickly came out and diagnosed this and replaced it. From the spring equinox to the autumn equinox the booster hardly ever kicks in - the evacuated tubes provide everything. In the winter the off-peak booster helps out. It has survived temperatures as low as -8 here in Canberra in winter and over 40 deg in summer. It just keeps working with no fuss. Love it!

( years earlier I had used them to install a solar PV system which, apart from a manufacturers fault with the inverter, has performed faultlessly.) The fault was repaired, under warranty, by Solargain service department, quickly and courteously, although the installation was 2 years old at that time. On this installation, once the old heat collectors were removed, many tiles were found to be badly eroded and although I had the right pattern of spare tiles, they were the wrong make and not suitable for use. The company agreed to postpone installing the replacement system, until I could obtain the correct tiles in sufficient numbers, to repair the roof. This meant a return visit several days later and no additional charges were made by Solargain, a really big plus for me as money is fairly tight these days. The installation team were very friendly and helpful during both visits and they seem to enjoy a good working relationship within themselves, `Spirit De Corp' as the French term it. Their service on this occasion went well beyond that which I could have expected under the circumstances, even impressing several neighbours who witnessed how the installation went and I can HIGHLY recommend Solargain as a company to consider went anyone is looking for this type of work to be undertaken on their property. Something you can not usually say in regard to most building industry businesses.

Joe arrived today and had the unit installed and pumping piping hot water into the home with minimum fuss in under an hour. My system is Conergy which is now defunct and parts are becoming obsolete, after a ring around of suppliers on the weekend, only Solargain provided the support I needed in my desperation. They got in touch and found out what I needed, sourced the part I wanted and made it available out of hours on the weekend. No other company was available including the company I bought the system from (infinite energy). All sorted now, and we have hot water with thanks to Solargain (Dominic) for going over and above. Because of this support service, I will ultimately replace my system with solargain because i need the weekend assistance and no one else comes close, I also want systems with spare parts available and Solargain are widespread with better reliability. Many companies stated I should change my 5yr old system that cost me $4,500 but I think that is poor advice, bad engineering practice, in a throwaway society-my tank internals are as good as new! Just need the parts and a reminder to change the anode from time to time!

They are more expensive than some and cheaper than others, but installation quality and service have been great. A couple of minor issues, but the mark of a company isn't that they don't have any issues at all but how they deal with them. Sales were good, pushed them a bit and ended up in a position that satisfied us both. On the day of installation found that the design the salesman came up with for roof locations didn't really fit so the installation team worked a better plan to ensure quality installation and optimum power. It caused them a lot more work to install but they did the right thing so I've ended up with the correct product. They were here from 7am to 5:30pm! The worst I could find with the installation guys was a few cable sheaths beside the power box on the floor! They were great! Professional and approachable.
There was a small further issue with the remote connection of the smartmeter and the fronius server, but given it was so late, their boss resolved the issue the next morning and is been working great since. Overall, you will find cheaper, but I doubt you will find better. If quality and service matters to you, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I must say I was impressed in both respects with Solargain sales and instalers. The 4kW system made of QCells Q.Power 270Wx15 solar panels and Fronius Primo 3.5-1 Inverter are regarded as high quality reliable components and of course Clean Energy Council approved. The installation was done professionally. Solar panels are mounted on strong framework paying attention to elimination of corrosion where dissimilar materials are involved. Cabling was run in conduit in particular to protect them from sun damage. Any technical questions I had were answered professionally. One area of concern was hot water system (HWS) which was on off peak tariff 33 (quite expensive). Recommendation was to eliminate tariff 33 and run HWS off solar system with a timer heating around 10am-2pm (adjustable as well as having manual override in the event of heavy hot water demand). To ensure enough solar power is available for other daytime-use items, it was recommended to reduce its element from 3.6kW to 1.8 kW, which I did. I also had to trim nearby trees to avoid shadows on the panels at least between 9am-3pm as recommended. The system operation was fully tested and is currently awating Ergon to change to Smart Meter.

The system is 7KW- I wasn't sure on the panels and what they recommended in terms of panels so far has been extremely pleasing! Due to demand, there was a slight delay so they compensated me with taking a month's worth of power bill off the price of the system! Joe was also able to help direct me in the RIGHT direction with finance through a community green lender, whereas the others seemed to have a sneaky relationship with solarfinance. On the day of installation 3 installers came, were very very polite and have done an immaculate clean install, they took the time to do it right and had good advice to maximise the efficiency through proper tilt. My advice, do not go elsewhere especially the smaller pop up green companies that hardly speak English at all. Solargain knew what they were doing and I am one extremely happy customer!

I spoke to each representative and Solargain was by far the best to deal with. They listened to what I wanted, quoted on what I wanted, and then advised me of the best solution that would meet our demands. No upselling, no heavy sales techniques, no smooth talking “sign up now” deals. When I signed up with them, they kept me informed of the process and kept their promise on install date November 2017. The installers arrived on time and were well presented. I was very impressed with their professionalism and importantly they respected our newly built home. The system we installed consisted of 2x 2 kw systems as we are on 2 phase power, which are consistently generating 2.2kw per system. In 2 days we generated 40kw. I compared them with 2 other companies with good ratings and asked them all lots of questions. Solargain were the most responsive, informative and helpful. Their Sales Rep was responsive and not pushy, very important and difficult balance to achieve !! The technical information provided was clear. The installation date and service was clear. The communication from their head office was fine. On the day of installation and afterwards there were a couple of minor issues, mostly caused by the fact it was a relatively new product. The installation team were great. A follow up was required within a couple of weeks to sort out a software issue. The sales rep got involved afterwards even though he didn't need to, very helpful again. The product is doing what I expected it to do, and I would strongly recommend Solargain to others.

The only complaint is that I wasn't offered the extra smart meter in my original quote to measure consumed electricity, as it could have been added to the certify finance being worth $500. Otherwise, the installation guys were friendly from Deception Bay QLD office, and the were quick and installed the panels and inverter after discussing and including me in the decision making where i wanted the inverter located. So far so good I can see my AGL bill being way less, I will consider a battery once the come down in price. Shame about the smart meter though , may be later. Due to increasing electricity demands at my home, I decided to upgrade my inverter and add more panels. Having been so happy the first time around with Solargain, there was no question in my mind who to use for the upgrade. Once again I received patient and helpful support from Solargain staff in making this decision and working out the best way to achieve the result I sought. I even gave the incorrect information (I said I had 3phase power and apparently I don't!), and Will simply swapped the inverter over to the correct one without any hassle at all. The installers were polite and helpful, taking the time to explain the system to me and leaving everything tidy when they were finished. My bill arrived in the post today for the last period (during which I had the upgraded system for just 13 days), and the bill was $20 in credit instead of $150 in debit. One VERY happy camper!

James has excellent product knowledge regarding all panel types and inverters, he was not just trying to sell me a product, clearly there is no brand bias, they want you give you the best product to suit your budget and needs unlike some other companies. At no time did I feel under any pressure to sign up with Solargain. James visited me on 3 separate occasions, answered all my questions and always followed up promptly. I had done a fair amount of research prior to calling for quotes and I was encouraged to get quotes from other suppliers, I am so glad I did as it soon became apparent that other companies were not interested, didn't follow up and one company after booking a time to call me didn't. When James came back with the quote I requested other quotes from them to compare the same type of panels with the other companies, and told James I was not ready to sign on the dotted line just yet. The ladies in the office were very friendly and helpful and the Team who actually installed the system were fantastic – they were polite and respectful and worked hard all day to ensure the system was installed properly. In fact, they even stayed back until 7pm to make sure everything was done. We have recently had a few problems with our hot water system and Brad and the rest of the SOLARGAIN Team have been great while we have tried to identify the problem. When the problem first started the manufacturer came and had a look and said it wasn’t the system and told us to go back to SOLARGAIN, which we did. Brad was fantastic trying to troubleshoot the problem, which actually turned out to be a problem with the hot water system after all. I can’t thank Brad enough for his patience and assistance in helping us to resolve this problem – which now seems to be fixed :-). We recently had our kitchen and bathrooms renovated which was a long, drawn out and exhausting experience. We had tradesmen who either didn’t turn up or came late, left a mess and didn’t clean up after themselves and we even had to get one of them to come back and fix the dodgy work he did in the bathroom. Having an unpleasant experience like this makes you appreciate the great ones all the more. I don’t usually write feedback but I had to share this rare experience – I highly recommend the SOLARGAIN Team, the level of customer service was brilliant! We also loved our last power bill ;-))

Many quotes are done over the phone, however the guys from Solargain at Deception Bay came out, had a good look at everything and gave me an accurate and competitive quote. I've now got nearly 6kW of QCell 280w panels and a fronius inverter installed. From the office staff, to the sales rep, to the installers, everybody was very professional, courteous, and friendly. Nothing was a bother for them (and believe me, I tried to bother them!) and I felt really comfortable calling them about any trivial little thing.
The installation crew were fantastic, with a qualified electrician, experienced helping hand, and even an apprentice electrician. They were considerate of our kids sleeping times, (and my wife's washing) and planned the noisy and de-energised work around them, and they still finished at a reasonable time without rushing (and without breaking ANY of my tiles!). I've dealt with quite a few solar companies through my work and for installs on my own places, and Solargain is easily the best I've come across. I'll be recommending them to any of my mates who are considering solar, and I'll be going back to them as soon as batteries are at a reasonable price.

Thursday 30th June, 2016Gadget from Western AustraliaJust had our existing 9 panel system upgraded to 23 with new Fronius inverter. Great new system pumping out over 4KW at peak. Have had it only for a matter of days so our next power bill will make interesting reading. Can't wait!
The sales rep advised us on the best way to go as there are a lot of factors to consider and I am happy with the result. Installers had it finished in a day and did a good job considering the complexity of the install. All in all very happy with the advice given, product quality and installation. I will be keeping an eye on the emerging battery technology and when the time is right will invest in the storage and management option to complete the system.

The magic result is that after 6 months my meter was read and the first bill that I have to pay to Energy Australia is, to my surprise, a credit for $9.77 in my favor, not only the system works brilliantly but safes lots of money.
