Why Adelaide businesses were offered solar support
Businesses in Adelaide are currently being given $150,000 as part of the State Government grants to support them in the installation of solar panels. The State Government grants will thereby provide businesses with more energy-efficient and affordable buildings. This initiative was launched in June this year by the Adelaide City Council as the first in Australia to provide incentives to businesses, and households for the installation of solar battery storage systems etc.
The investment is equivalent to the $150, 000 pumped into the programme by the Adelaide City Council. Ian Hunter, Minister of Environment stated that businesses might receive a maximum of $5,000 in favour of energy storage and rooftop solar systems, and minimum amount for other energy efficiency mechanisms.

"We hope that building owners will see that it's in their own interest to invest in this sort of technology," Mr Hunter stated.
"If the government and the City Council together can offer a little bit of incentive to encourage them to move quickly again that will drive investment in these technologies but also jobs for the local communities and employers."
What it meant for commercial solar buyers
Retailers in the electricity market are creating storage batteries to store electric power produced by rooftop solar panels that could be used overnight. A maximum amount of $5,000 will be given to households and businesses in the city for the installation of battery storage systems starting from July, with another incentive of $5,000 in the pipeline for the installation of rooftop solar panels.
